For some reason reminds me of when JFK was asked by a reporter if high-altitude testing of atomic bombs would damage the Van Allen radiation belts, which had recently been discovered by an American satellite.
JFK answered “Van Allen says it’s not going to affect the belt.”
At the time, James Van Allen was a professor of physics at the University of Iowa, and was 47 years old.
