I read an analysis after 2016, that if you removed the vote of women, the Democrats would have something to the effect of 6 senators, about 50 Reps, and never win the presidency.
Right, you can look at those red/blue maps showing what an election would look like if only one group of people voted. If only men voted, the map is a sea of red. If only white men voted, even California would be red!
Ann Coulter once said she would give up her right to vote if all other women had to give it up, too. If that could only happen, we conservatives would always get the presidents we wanted.
I’ve seen similar analyses that show two versions of the political map, one if only men voted and one for women. The difference is stunning (but not surprising). If only men voted, the map would be solid red from coast to coast, with just a small number of small blue enclaves. The map for women-only is exactly the opposite. Of course, if you isolated married women it would tell a very different story, but all of those young single, more impressionable women really skew things.
Really, that wouldn’t be the case, because if the Democrats had to appeal to men for their votes, then they would adopt much more moderate positions and probably would still win about 50% of the time on average. But the country would still be much better off.
