Amnesty translate to ‘lack of responsibility’

You have to offer a sincere apology and make reparations for your egregious behavior, conduct, and speech then we can talk about amnesty/forgiveness.

Given the amount of uncertainty, almost every position was taken on every topic. And on every topic, someone was eventually proved right, and someone else was proved wrong. This is like a person "apologizing" but then making the excuse that you made them behave that way. Doesn't work that way.

No, you don’t get “AMNESTY” for being EVIL!
You engaged in EVIL... You don’t get to claim you have to pay no price for your EVIL!
To: z3n
The PREP Act and CARES Act already immunized many of the people involved.
What’s Deep State suddenly so terrified of...
Just how many people have died, are still dying?!

If “Amnesty” involves firing, criminal prosecution, and mountains of civil litigation taking millions upon millions of dollars from them, then I’m all for it.

Not for the people involved in Japan’s Unit 731.
Let’s not repeat history.

I’m sure the Nazis at Nuremberg wanted a general amnesty for any “unfortunate” things that happened to Jews or people of the occupied territories, too. We will not forgive. We will not forget. And we are not in a merciful mood.
To: z3n
I would not be for any form of amnesty, if you did have amnesty it must only come after everyone has been held accountable for their actions, with Fauci at the top of the list.

You need humility to be forgiven. You can see right in the words they are using like "amnesty" that they have no humility.
All you Covidians, just say "I'm sorry I was wrong and you were right, we should have listened to you, please forgive us for our terrible words and actions...we are going to make it right by doing the following ...."
Then maybe we can speak.

Heating a lot about “amnesty” all of a sudden. Dems are very afraid of what will happen after the midterms. Good.

Amnesty - NO. I have an idea, lets make ALL the Covidiots, Vaxaholics and VAX lovers suffer THE EXACT SAME discrimination, hatefulness, Job Loss, etc. as the unvaxxed did, and then, just maybe, we can talk Amnesty.
You don’t get to ruin the lives of people and say OOPS and all is well and forgiven. These people need to suffer. Sending them to Hell would be a good start!

Forgiveness comes the moment before the hood slips over your head and the noose is checked for a proper fit. Then and only then.

Absolutely not.
At the beginning, *maybe* there was some uncertainty. But this has now been going on for nearly 3 years. And there is a whole laundry list of grievances.
But to give a look into the mindset of the perps, here is an article from a fellow Californian from earlier this year: Column: Mocking anti-vaxxers’ COVID deaths is ghoulish, yes — but may be necessary
As frogjerk said, you can't have forgiveness when the one asking has shown no regret or made a good faith effort to provide restitution. And a number of those now calling for "amnesty" were doing what they did with smug self satisfaction.
