Not Budweiser for heaven’s sake.
Thank God I have lots of ammo and turkey and deer in the lower 40. Catfish and brim in the pond. Plenty of firewood to burn and sweet taters in the ground need digging out. Currently setting in spinach, lettuce, cabbage and kale.
If there is a jet fuel shortage that effects the Martha’s Vineyard set expect an immediate fix.
when diesel stops we stop, nice to see they recognize this but have to add other crap that relates back to: if diesel stops we stop.
It doesn't matter how it's made, unless it gets made faster than we extract it.
I was just informed by my pharmacist that there’s an Adderall shortage so those patients will pry be switching to my ADHD medication that’s already in short supply. She said it is due to a shortage of the raw materials needed to make the meds. So tired of this sh!t! 🤬
There are oceans of it.
You are going to get your wish of ending “fossil” fuels very soon.
And when you and your family starve to death, just remember you hlped make it happen and deserve everything that came after.
There are seventeen days of diesel fuel left.
Enjoy!
Where do you live? </joke>
Years ago, I tried one of those flowerpot heaters. Wimpy, but I was living in a 112-year-old home and had large rooms w/lots of windows. My present home is 1/2 the size and might be easier to keep warm.
However, I prefer inside-safe propane heaters. We have a $25 little key that allows filling 1# propane canisters from a 20# tank and we have tanks stockpiled.
We have a propane/gasoline generator and a power station that uses solar panels. Still need to figure out how to power the well, which needs heat when it’s below 15F and will likely pop for a transfer switch so we can power things directly from the electrical panel.
On the food side of things, butter here was $3.99 this week. One store is having a chicken truckload sale with prices reminiscent of 2019 and another store is having a meat sale with strip loins at $5.99/lb. Biggest problem is making freezer room.
My pantry is full to the point where I have storage in my bedroom closet. I move items into the other storage areas as I use things to make space. Select canned goods (veg & soups) were 4 for $5 today. I had to pass.
No basement, so we have been discussing making a *root cellar* with a large metal storage can in a hole in the ground, which is mostly sand.
We were gifted w/potatoes and apples, assorted canned goods and assorted toiletries from a close friend a few weeks ago. Some items might be a lifetime supply, considering our ages. She is an ardent couponer and never passes anything up. She supplies her family and friends a few times a year with the excess.
