First of all, I dislike having these kinds of discussions with people I am sure I would otherwise agree with. There is enough fighting with our enemies, both domestic and foreign that needs to be done, and I find the prospect of logging into this site and going head-to-head over something that we should be closer in agreement to, and that is the fact that SOMETHING must be done.

I have always been an optimist. I still am. Do I think things can be turned around?

Yes I do. I believe there is still time. If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t be here.

And I have always believed in the durability of this country, that it was bigger than any man or any group of men. But the was before I observed what has happened in the last six years. I have seen things I have, in my lifetime, NEVER thought possible in this country.

Never.

But they have happened.

We cannot ignore the debt and kick that can down the road and wait until it is $47 or $57 trillion dollars.

We cannot ignore the invasion on the southern border and wait for someone, somehow, somewhere to fix it.

We cannot continue to hobble industry in this country, never mind destroy it with high taxes, globalization, onerous regulation if not hostile and active attempts to do so as is happening with the energy sector.

We cannot continue to allow our government to gut our military and corrupt it with mandatory woke policies and hope that some future administration addresses it before we get into a shooting war.

We cannot allow the erosion of the electoral process, being violated with impunity, with barely a single person being punished, allowing the process to continue.

We cannot allow the abuses of a government, weaponizing our sacred institutions to be used against everyday citizens and political opponents.

We cannot continue to allow our 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendment Rights to be trampled on until someone comes along to save the day.

We cannot continue to countenance the open flaunting of criminality in some and overly harsh punishment in others who are on the other side of a political divide.

I am not making these things up. These things are real. If either of you wish to debate me on the reality or the seriousness of these things, let’s have at it instead of calling a fellow conservative a quitter. Let’s have the discussion.

These things listed above cannot be put off forever, and have already been put off far too long, perhaps irretrievably too long. We don’t know that yet.

But mark my words-if we don’t begin turning this ship around, fixing all these things, both of you, and everyone else including me and my loved ones, is going to wake up one day with hyperinflation that will cripple us, houses that can’t be cooled or heated, goods that cannot be created and distributed, and jobs and income that will no longer exist for people. When that happens, worse things will ensue, including starvation and civil war if not outright anarchy.

This is not an exaggeration. It isn’t hyperbole. And it isn’t hysteria.

It is only those things to people who cannot face the reality, or those who have never read history and seen that all great nations are fully capable of collapsing into tyranny or anarchy. History is filled with those events, over, and over, and over again.

The only chance we have of avoiding that, and all the misery and death that is going to accompany it, is if we don’t just let it happen, which is the road we are on.

And we have been letting it happen for far too long.

As Americans, we like to think we are special, because we are. But it is not our blood or genetics that make us special. It is our Constitution, the rule of law, not the rule of Man that makes us special. That, and our recognition of the value of the individual which sets us apart.

And you should both agree-we are more under an Oligarchy, the rule of Man now, than a Constitutional Republic under the Rule of Law.

If we don’t turn it around, or at least begin the process IF we win back the House and Senate, when is it going to happen? We no longer have the luxury of being patient.

I actually agree with much of what you wrote here, but the first step to changing things means we have to break the Democrat trifecta.

If they keep a trifecta, they actually will follow through with cementing 1 party rule.

Yes, there is a lot of mess to clean up, a lot. We didn’t get here overnight and we won’t fix it overnight either. But we have to stop the bleeding before we can get a transfusion, or else the blood will keep pouring.

There are a lot of loons here who want the Democrats in charge because they think it will somehow make us march to a mad max wasteland a little quicker.

If you aren’t one of them, I apologize. It’s hard to separate the wheat from the chaff here now.

It’s not exaggeration or hyperbole.

It is intentional.
