Russia agreed to the deal because it seemed to them that denying such exports would lose them the goodwill of third parties they wanted to keep neutral.

Notably Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Turkey for one needs the grain. Food problems destabilizing Egypt, for instance, would annoy both the Turks and the Saudis.

Turkey can badly hurt Russia. Turkey has vast stocks of armaments and has easy access to more. They can supply Ukraine with equipment better than almost anyone else in NATO. They can also interdict a large share of Russian exports through the Dardanelles. Turkey has remained mostly neutral.

Look for grain prices to skyrocket in the Middle East

guess Saudi Arabia and Iran will be thanking their new buddy Russia for raising prices
____________

Russkies have wheat and grains to sell on the word markets. With this move, Pooty jacks up their price. My take is, Iranians are driving a hard bargain for more drones and missiles. So Poooty Poot (who has many deranged FR lovers here) will use his grains exports revenues to pay the Muslim Iranians. Who now are his new paymasters.

Come on Ramzan Kadryov. When are you Chechens going to revolt and take down the bloated, the degenerates in the Kremlin? We know your troops there in Ukraine are there for a grand training exercise

A USAF Global Hawk was up during the Sevastopol air and sea drone attacks. It's up again now.

An ISR platform, manned or unmanned, is considered neutral when flying in international air space when it is only observing. As soon as targeting data is shared with belligerents, the ISR platform becomes a co-belligerent and loses its neutral status.

IOW, look for another contrived incident. The US continues to poke and jab and stab at Russia, attempting to create an incident that can be used to escalate the war.

The neocons lust for Nuclear World War 3.

Note that a few weeks ago there was an incident over the Black Sea involving a Russian fighter jet, a missile launch, and a manned British ISR plane. And a few years ago, Iran shot down a Global Hawk encroaching on their air space. This can "get real" very fast.

As soon as targeting data is shared with belligerents

so you have conclusive proof that this drone was "sharing targeting data", Matt?

and what's your proof?

It's not up to me to provide you proof, moron. Obviously.

I'm just laying out a basic law of war. So please don't pretend to be shocked when Russia splashes a Global Hawk, and says it was used for targeting, making it a co-belligerent.

You seem so casual about poking and jabbing the world's other great nuclear power. As if it's just a joke to you, or a game.

It's not a joke or a game.

This is the kind of thing I mean when I say that Ukraine has developed its own brand of Nazism with an element of chutspah included.

““It’s really outrageous,” said Biden speaking in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday. “There’s no merit to what they’re doing.”

Well, Mr. President, I don’t see US grain ships going into the Black Sea and letting themselves get attacked by Ukrainian drones, so why should Russia?

“Look for grain prices to skyrocket in the Middle East. That’s where Ukrainian grain normally goes.”

Grain is fungible...prices world-wide will skyrocket due to bidding wars. Countries with money will get theirs, others, the ones that the Globalists say are overpopulated, not so lucky.

“Two Russian vessels were safe guarding those grain shipments, as per an agreement struck, inhabitant of Canuckistan.”

The more he tries to defend the Neocons, the sillier he looks.

“However... what’s outrageous is that our own Meat Puppet Biden expects to send billions of dollars (MY money!!!) “

You must be on Russia’s payroll for not wanting to impoverish the US over Ukraine.

Look for grain prices to skyrocket in the Middle East. That’s where Ukrainian grain normally goes.

Over half of the grain shipped under the auspices of this UN deal went to directly to Europe and the Russians believe the return ships were smuggling weapons/munitions.

Russia has said it will also ship grain to poor nations for free, so the threat of global hunger is mostly rhetoric.

Grain prices may skyrocket, but its the Euros who will be hungry.

Thanks for adding the additional information.

It’s pretty important to add; otherwise the thread just devolves into the equivalent of a bunch of girls slap fighting.

“In fact, the vessels involved in the grain deal, after passing the Bosphorus on the way back, were loaded with ammunition at 10-20% of the maximum deadweight directly at sea from Bulgarian and / or Romanian vessels.”

Thanks, I figured that without Russian inspections, the Neocons would use the ships to funnel weapons. Nice of Ukraine to cause the project to be canceled, though.
