I should add that I think George III was an altogether nice guy, family man, did his best to be a good ruler, even wrote treatises on how to not be a despot.

True. But at least we can view them as something more nuanced than a ‘tyrant’ and anyone who remained loyal to him as ‘pro-tyrant’.
