Attacking this effort is a direct violation of the deal brokered by Turkey with the UN, that the parties agreed to. This is probably reason enough for Russia to be pissed right off.

On October 29, the Ukrainian armed forces, under the cover of a humanitarian corridor created as part of the implementation of the “Black Sea initiative” for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, launched massive air and sea strikes using unmanned vehicles against ships and infrastructure of the Russian Black Sea Fleet at the naval base in Sevastopol.
Under the cover of a grain deal, ammunition was delivered to Ukraine through the ports of Greater Odessa.
As a result Russia has suspended it’s participation in the deal for an indefinite period. It also says it cannot guarantee the safety of ships transporting grain.....not clear what this means in practice

The UN is in contact with the Russian authorities in light of reports about the suspension of Russia’s participation in the Black Sea grain initiative, the UN Secretary-General’s office said.

On October 29 the first large scale strike on Sevastopol in the history of the current “special operation”.
According to the MOD, a total of 9 unmanned aerial vehicles and 7 autonomous marine drones were involved in the attack on the city and the fleet. At the same time, their targets were not only the berths of the main fleet base, but also ships that were on combat duty at anchor in the outer roadstead.
As far as can be judged, it was on the outer roadstead that the Ivan Golubets minesweeper received minor explosive damage, according to the MOD. Since it is part of the 68th brigade of ships of the water area protection, which is based in the Southern Bay. And the Southern Bay, although it was attacked on Saturday, but the enemy naval drone damage there, according to official data, was caused only to the boom-net barrier covering the approaches to the berths. Our military personnel, who examined a craft that was beached back in September haven’t commented on details.
Acc to the publication “Maritime Executive”, this is an autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle AUV SeaCat designed to search for mines. Moreover, the “cats” function is only a search and detection of objects located under water at depths of up to 100 meters. What it detects, in the basic version, should be finished off by combat swimmers or minesweepers.
But AUV SeaCat can also do some damage on its own.

“This small autonomous ship looks like a product of a special design. Judging by the photo, it is equipped with an electro-optical camera, a laser rangefinder and two steel protrusions on the nose, which can be detonators or contactors for an explosive device.
Analysts suggest that the flat panel installed at the stern could be a satellite antenna for communication and remote control. The side of the boat is marked with the inscription “4,5 VZNSI”.
Were 7 “Black Cats” used at Sevastopol Bay on Saturday morning? Or something more powerful? This is still unclear.

During the “Warmate” development, along with the Warsaw company WB Electronics, the specialists of the Ukrainian company Cesara also participated most actively. Their joint work on creating a strike UAV was successfully completed in 2014. Serial production has been launched in Poland since 2015.
Lithuania bought at least 37 of them from the Poles and passed them on to Kiev at the end of August. On September 7, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced in his Telegram channel that the entire shipment has already been received.
So why use Warmate?
It is made of composite materials, which provides low radar visibility. A tiny thing, in fact, perfectly suitable for the sabotage activities of Special Operations Forces. Because even a teenager can carry it in a backpack. weighs only 5.3kg
The maximum flight duration of a kamikaze drone is only 60 minutes. And the maximum range of stable operation of its control system is up to 12 kilometers. This means that if on Saturday the enemy really unleashed one or more Warmates to attack Sevastopol, then its operator with the appropriate equipment was either in the city itself or in its immediate vicinity.
Probably, everything looked about the same on the night of September 27 when the Balaklava TPP was hit from the air by the same low-power kamikaze drone in the vicinity of Sevastopol. Then, let me remind you, the damage to the station was extremely insignificant. One transformer was disabled, which was already not working and was on preventive maintenance. This was announced by the governor of the region Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Most likely, both at Balaklava and in the main base of the Black Sea Fleet, we got off relatively easily due to the relatively low power of the Warmate warhead. After all, on Saturday, the only ammunition that reached Sevastopol collapsed on the Ship’s side, not far from the local vocational school on Khruleva Street. And only took out the window panes of the building.
But the very place of the UAV crash (if it was not shot down by electronic warfare or anti-aircraft fire and did not fall randomly) suggests that the true target was the 13th ship repair plant of the Black Sea Fleet, located in Kilen Bay. The only enterprise in these parts that can fully return ships to combat readiness.
But outwardly such a modest combat result of the operation is it legitimate to consider it a complete failure?
I’m not sure. Because the US strategic recon drone RQ-4B-40 Global Hawk was flying over international waters near Sevastopol all night from Friday to Saturday. It took off from a NATO airbase near Catania, Sicily.
What, perhaps, does such an amazing synchronicity of actions of our enemies indicate?
The organizers of the operation probably wanted to make the entire air defense system of the main base work with maximum effect and the Recon drone could record air-def positions and frequencies.
So we can likely expect another raid, perhaps of a larger scale in the future
