The bright boys need to sit out the government work. We need servants, like police. People working phones, filing papers, answering phones, patrolling the city looking for problems. We don’t need Czars, Queens and Princes. Being a servant of the people requires a “serving heart”. I think Herschel Walker gets that. His opponent is a pseudo minister, along the lines of TV preachers, or Reverend Jesse, or Al sharptongue. They don’t minister to affairs, they search for fortune and glory. We need people like MTG who have a servants heart. When they lose it, it is time to get back to the private sector.

I get it, he is an excellent candidate. He really is not Senator material. That is what is best about him. We just don’t need Lords and Ladies. We need public Servants to follow our lead. Of course they will have to go against the publics opinion at times, but not on issues addressed by the US Constitution and logic.

Georgia, not even Atlanta, is like New York. For one thing, Georgia has never forgotten its agrarian past, and is at least somewhat focused on its history. For another thing, it is much easier to keep your house heated in Georgia than it is in New York. People live in Georgia for different reasons than people who live in New York State, and New York City in particular.

Even though it is located on the Atlantic seaboard, Georgia is still considered “Flyover country” by many New York denizens.

Dems are not in trouble.

Even if they are in the minority, they will stifle any progress that the spineless GOP will try to accomplish. America is lost not because of any thing the RATs did, but because of the lack of assertiveness that the GOP has displayed for many years starting with the acceptance of homosexuality, abortion and other aberrations in the 70’s. The GOP never made a violent attempt to push against the Marxist forces that assaulted this country. WE defended Europe, SKorea, Vietnam but did little to ensure our own security. Prime example is how we now are invaded by migrants and Chinese spies and do very little positive about it but talk about it. The migration is called an invasion of Texas but why did we defend SKorea from a NORK invasion but do nothing against the mayhem in Texas? And on and on it goes...

Yeah… Michael Steele turned out to be a worthless POS - but he always rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning - so maybe I have a good sniffer.

My conservative heroes that are black weren’t really politicians but rather economists: Walter Williams (my professor in B school) and Thomas Sowell.

Who are some examples of black politicians that were disappointments?

Herman Caine seemed like a straight arrow - just not that bright in my opinion.

So long as He cuts Chuck, et al., down, I’m good. We should humbly work to be on His side. I’m not a Beatles fan, but some times they have good lyrics, too. So does Melanie, Pete Seeger and Woodie Guthrie, and horrible as they are, Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkle (yuck). Lyrics with some truth in them is lyrics with some truth in them. I am a Johnny Cash fan, but I’m also a Jethro Tull fan, and a Woodie Guthrie fan. My tastes are eclectic. Not that it’s really relevant.

It’s not necessarily a bad thing. It protects against a scenario where ballots are opened weeks ahead of Election Day, and then sent back to the voters for “corrections.”
