I heard a major news report earlier - and they said that Police observed the two men and then a conflict broke out.
They led everyone to believe the Police were there to check on the Wellness of Pelosi, and that they weren’t fighting when they first arrived and were observed.
They got there at 2:27 am and both men were in their underwear both holding hammers.
Only after police arrived did the attack take place.
The police (see the recorded call link posted on FR) has the police call refer to the attacker as a “friend.”
