that’s exactly the way they did it at a company i worked at (contract) in Jacksonville, Fl.
Sit there doing your job, security shows up, tells you to log off the computer, get your purse (if female) and car keys. Just grab your keys if male. Leave everything, including family photos on the desk, don’t touch anything, and HR would pack your stuff.

What is that? A shim, a self identified woman or man? Mr and Mrs. Curry must be so happy.

Hardly, here is a brief statement about what data engineers make.
According to Glassdoor, data engineers often earn an annual salary of over $110,000 a year [1]. In this guide, you’ll learn what data engineers do, what can affect data engineer salaries, and how you can get started on this exciting career path.Oct 4, 2022
Here is a definition of what a data engineer does.

Like I said earlier it’s not just about collecting data and throwing it on a disk drive for retrieval later, it’s far more complicated than that, especially large enterprise customers that have dozens of applications that share information.

Data is engineered. It is necessary to structure data records, and to make records for different purposes. Then relationships between records must be established, with indexes of various types to allow records from the different files (or tables) to be accessed at random or in sequence. It is very important to get a clear understanding of the data to be handled and the methods for access BEFORE software is written.
Those who fail to model their data first are doomed to a very hectic software development cycle.

Fire them all.
I am sure Elon has a good number informants within the company and knows exactly which loosers need to go.

So, database engineer? Relational data engineer? The term “data engineer” sound fishy, using plain old vernacular definitions.

I know that with their qualifications they should have no trouble finding a top flight job in either the food service or house keeping industries. If past performance is an indicator of future success, then you overestimate their capabilities.

Elon Musk’s annexation of Twitter is the most terrifying development in recent history.
