I was just reading about the new drones the Russians are using. They’re Iranian drones that the Russians have modified to work with their Glonass GPS system.

They are cheap, commercially available for about $15k, and can carry about 50 lbs of explosive. They have a range of hundreds of miles and can fly faster than most others. With the Glonass GPS, they are as accurate as our HIMARS. The Russians are supposed to have bought 2400 and are building more. These can take out every electrical substation in a city within minutes, or converge in flight to hammer one target repeatedly.

We can throw every sophisticated anti-air system we want to into this fight, firing million dollar missiles, but when the enemy can launch a dozen or more drones at your position, over and over again, you’re in trouble.

Now, the Russians dare us to touch their system. They know that our space assets are sitting ducks. Yes, we can blow up their satellites too, but can you imagine the impact on our world if GPS stops?
