I understand the anger many feel about the money being spent in Ukraine, and Zelensky is no saint. No one wants escalation to nuclear war, and we have plenty of problems here at home.
But as someone with family in Ukraine, I’m pulling for them. I receive first hand accounts from them on a daily basis.
The governments and leaders of Russia and Ukraine no more represent the average people than Biden and his DOJ/FBI represent you and me.

I have seen an analysis saying Reuters actually has reporters in the field. Ditto some India journalism agencies.
Everywhere else is quoting Ukraine or Russian official releases and those journalists sleep in a Kiev or Moscow bed every night.
Youtube is filled with view seeking channels. Most extract snippets from Telegram.
Some thoughtful text has merit. My personal screening method is . . . if the text at any point starts talking about who is evil and who is not, there won’t be much of value in that data.

If the Ukrainian military is dis functional what does that make the Russian military that was supposed to take Kiev in a couple of days eight months ago? The Russians have 60 K dead and enough armor lost to restock a midsized military power, and for all that basically hold what they gained in the first few days of the war.
