From 1990 to 2010, the most recent year of data in the project, 52.1% of US serials killers were white, while 40.3% were black. The numbers don’t change much internationally either. Worldwide, 56.2% are white, while 30% are black.

Between 1982 and October 2022, 72 out of the 134 mass shootings in the United States were carried out by white shooters. By comparison, the perpetrator was African American in 21 mass shootings, and Latino in 11. When calculated as percentages, this amounts to 53 percent, 15 percent, and eight percent respectively.
