A Republican campaign volunteer was brutally beaten by people who said Republicans 'weren't allowed' in their area, Florida GOP Senator Marco Rubio said on Monday morning.
The canvasser was clad in Rubio's campaign gear and that of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the senator said.
'Last night one of our canvassers wearing my T-shirt and a Desantis hat was brutally attacked by 4 animals who told him Republicans weren’t allowed in their neighborhood,' Rubio wrote on Twitter.
'He suffered internal bleeding, a broken jaw & will need facial reconstructive surgery.'
It's not immediately clear whether law enforcement is investigating the alleged incident, or what led up to it.
Growing political divisions have led to a surge in online and real life confrontations that have enveloped both lawmakers and everyday Americans.
The Department of Homeland Security has sent out multiple bulletins this year alone that warn of increased threats against federal employees and others in the political sphere.
All the while, violent rhetoric is becoming normalized language to invigorate the voter base.
Donald Trump said earlier in October that Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell 'has a death wish' over the Kentucky Republican's vote to fund the government and avoid a shutdown.
And Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan, who is running for an open Senate seat in Ohio, said on MSNBC last month that Americans must 'kill and confront' the MAGA Republican movement

I was shocked to hear them talk about violence from the left last week.
And the perp will get a hand slap just like Rand Paul’s neighbor.
Absolutely horrific. Violence has NO PLACE in politics.

Attorney General Garland will establish a task force and get on this immediately. Expect soon to see armed FBI enforcers in full military garb making pre-dawn raids on the culprits. CNN will get advance notice.
White suprema-cysts at it again.

We know the FBI won’t care unless the story gets national attention and starts to affect their reputation. DeSantis is governor and the mayor is Republican. Let’s see if they bother to do anything about this.
Yes...and that will be directed at the person who was terrorizing this poor neighborhood with Republican paraphernalia and those who sent him there...
Actually, violence is entrenched in politics. First, using vote fraud to steal the rights of people who don't agree with you is a violent act that hurts its victims just as significantly as physical harm. Second, Antifa and BLM have been very violent, have physically hurt people, and this is stoked by anti-white anti-traditional America political bias and hatred. Third, the MSM and leftist activists routinely make inflammatory comments about those they disagree with, and these comments sometimes rise to the level of incitement to violence and the legal definition of verbal assault.
There are many more points to make in this context, but suffice it to say that there is most definitely a violent side to politics.
Some will say it was 2020, but I believe the real beginning of the American Troubles starts now-ish.
Tell me again about the violent repubs.
By contrast, the California immigrants in Texas who went canvassing on behalf of Beto O'Rourke were very kindly treated by Texans, who said "bless your heart" to them. See the documentary by Babylon Bee.
Meanwhile the EVIL Satan’s spawn children whocreated all this sit safely in their Manattan high-rises, Hollywood gated homes, and congressional offices.
