With all due respect, I believe you’re naive if you think that. DeSantis is ambitious. There’s no real reason for him to get involved in this race other than to show his independence from Trump. Of all the Republica Senate candidates he could have chosen to support, he goes and chooses this one. DeSantis understands the optics and chose to make this gesture as a subtle swipe at Trump’s leadership.
