More black people than white die from sickle cell anemia. Does this show racism or a genetic propensity towards sickle cell anemia?
Doctors might do better by investigating physical reason for these “extra” deaths—perhaps there is a higher genetic tendency to these difficulties among black women than white? Etc. Improved translation services won’t help fix that.

Causes of maternal death include the development of blood clots, heart failure, postpartum hemorrhage (excessive blood loss) and pre-eclampsia (extremely high blood pressure) Which is a result of the state of the mother’s health. It’s not the doing of the medical community causing it.

High blood pressure happens to be about 50% higher in blacks as well. Obesity is only 20% higher, so there very well could just be a racial component in high blood pressure.
