The United Auto Workers union on Friday called on the Biden administration not to award any subsidies, loans or other taxpayer support until Hyundai Motor agrees to address workplace issues.
On Wednesday, Hyundai's global chief operating officer Jose Munoz told Reuters Korea's top automaker is investigating child labor violations in its U.S. supply chain and plans to "sever ties" with Hyundai suppliers in Alabama found to have relied on underage workers.

Lying dem/union goons.
I refuse to buy one of their cars because they want to wipe out an entire European ethnic group. And they are completely open about it.
If they are truly exploiting children…but for some unknown reason I have an immediate autonomic response to be skeptical of anything unions say and that goes triple for automotive unions, so I want to see videos of kids chained to rails operating welding torches before I consider it, and even then I will still think it is just footage of the union bosses personal kiddie porn stash
How about no corporate welfare for anyone?
As a hard and fast rule, America should impose tariffs on any foreign manufacturer that receives aid from any government or indulges in unfair trade practices and/or uses slave/child labor.
I remember when first proposed, the tax credit for EVs was only for union-made vehicles. Is that still the case?
in it’s supply chain... please
What?
The Hyundai plant is about 30 miles from me. It hires all kinds of people: white, black, Asian, legal Latinos (not many in Alabama).
I know of no group being discriminated against.
As far as child workers among the parts manufacturers; what a laugh. Grown men and women want those jobs, and if they are using kids—why?—it would create an uproar.
Always did want union bosses to dictate what cars we could buy. Remember, they had several at one time indicted and convicted for theft of pension and retirement funds and dues. Nice group of leaders.

Go pound sand. It’s a better product than the UAW puts out
There is no labor shortage in Alabama. Why would Hyundai have to use children to fill their work load?
I’ll go a step further. I’m calling on the Biden administration not to give any automaker any money or subsidy to purchase their products.
My guess is they’re masking it with the “US supply chain” comment. I’ll bet it’s happening overseas
I was a Teamster for 35 years. The one thing I learned was never, ever trust the union.
UAW actually stands for United Against Work. Been there. I served a 15 year sentence with a first tier supplier to GM and Ford.
Srednik has owned two Hyundai’s and attests to their superb quality and faithfulness to their warranty.
I had to deal with the automakers at the docks when I did expedited freight. The pickup was always quick with loading then I’d get to the dock of the plant and sit... All while dispatch is screaming we missed the deadline (nope. I am in the lot, checked in and in line.) They would let the line run out of parts while I sat behind a line of trucks carrying parts not needed right away.
Because the very name says so: Hun Die
Sarcastic comment on the name.
I’m on my third Hyundai Sonata now and have never had a car so reliable. All made in Alabama, not Detroit.
