The bulk of US power is in the USAF and USN, and all of that is oriented towards China. Russia is not an invasion threat vs Europe once the Euros actually mobilize. Europe is vastly more powerful than Russia.

There is more than just the US involved here. The largest military factor, in an immediate sense, for a war with Russia, is not the US but Poland.

This is just a mild warning to Russia. We’re watching.

It’s important to signal that are lines they must not cross. Being vague is what led to the first Gulf War and, for that matter, this one.

Now they are gonna have NATO directly on their borders. Didn’t work out as Putin thought it would, did it. Lol.

No. No we aren’t.

The drama on this forum is approaching what I see on Reddit. I would expect more from grown ups. But I think most of them have moved on.

If you knuckleheads think Russia is going to pay any type restitution to Ukraine, you need to put the crack pipe down.

Ukraine going to pay restitution to those Ukrainian ethnic Russians and Ukrainian Russian speaking citizens in the Donbass region for the shelling, killing, etc they had done to them since 2014?

You all make no frakin’ sense at all when throwing around BS like “restitution” etc.

And when they leave, 5,000 other troops will rotate through. They have been doing this since 1947.

The US already has Europe based units. Has had them there for 60 years.

From the article I provided a link to:

The U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division has been deployed to Europe for the first time in almost 80 years amid soaring tension between Russia and the American-led NATO military alliance.

CBS News joined the division’s Deputy Commander, Brigadier General John Lubas, and Colonel Edwin Matthaidess, Commander of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, on a Black Hawk helicopter for the hour-long ride to the very edge of NATO territory — only around three miles from Romania’s border with Ukraine.

That threat, so close to NATO territory in Romania, is why one of America’s most elite air assault divisions has been sent in, with some heavy equipment.

“We’re ready to defend every inch of NATO soil,” Lubas told CBS News. “We bring a unique capability, from our air assault capability… We’re a light infantry force, but again, we bring that mobility with us, for our aircraft and air assaults.”

The tank rounds and artillery fire were real. The drill was meant to recreate the battles Ukraine’s forces are fighting every day against Russian troops, just across the border. The war games so close to that border are a clear message to Russia and to America’s NATO allies, that the U.S. Army is here.

This isn’t the 101st doing some training with an Air Assault Unit from a NATO country and then going out drinking with all of them at the end of the training day.

Currently, we have more than 100,000 troops in Europe, we also have many DOD-related personnel, not in uniform.

“Romania: position a rotational brigade combat team”

“The Baltic region: increase rotational deployments of armored, aviation, air defense, and special operations forces”

That is an invitation for Ukrainians to dress up in Russian military uniforms and attack across the border. Then, it is a green light for the Biden administration to rush in with guns blazing and ICBMs sailing. Objective secured.

If you're implying USA aggression, then please show where the US attacked Japan, other than trade sanctions.

It wasn't just trade sanctions. The US was using their naval fleet to help shut down oil supply routes for Japan. Let's just say it didn't make the Walter Cronkite "evening news".

And we’ve caused all of this to be prolonged by continuing to support all of it with our money and arms.

And if anyone thinks that we already don’t have certain ‘boots on the ground’ there “assisting” and of course, certain government agencies doing a little more than “assisting” in the form of drones, you’re living in fantasy land.

Oh wait, first there was the Ghost of Kiev...NOPE. Snake Island...NOPE. Then the 14yr old drone nerd that was turning the tide....You should all get right on that one.

Again, if you’re ok with OUR money being poured down that drain, for one of the most corrupt places on the planet, completely unaccounted for in any way, with all of our own problems and realizing that there’s an increasing chance that US troops will end up there...that’s on you.

You do know that Zelensky has a military unit that foreigners can join to fight the Russians, right? When are you dropping everything, instead of cheerleading on FR and picking up an AK?

and Finland is RIGHT ON Russia's borders

Helsinki is a whole lot further from Moscow than a little over 300 miles like Ukraine.

The 101st has been to Europe many times over the last 80 years and we will be maintaining a brigade combat team in Romania.

This is a much better and more accurate thread on this.

Absent a US congressional declaration of war against Russia OR a proven attack by same upon EXISTING NATO state — any movement into Russia or Ukraine by US forces is a classic case of a need for fragging this dumb bastid.

If he makes such a move he has betrayed his oath to the US and would be perfectly willing to fire upon US citizens if some Ahole like BeijingBiden told him to do so. Anything other than further mouthing off ought to get him “retired”, with prejudice.

NATO countries are already 350 and 400 miles from Moscow, this distance thing is pretty silly.

Finland is about 450.
