Texas man gets no jail time for beating girlfriend, killing their unborn child: report

A Texas man accused of beating his girlfriend to the point where their unborn child died, will serve no jail time after taking a plea deal with the Travis County District Attorney’s office Monday, according to reports.

Johnny Charles Ebbs V’s plea deal comes with eight years of deferred adjudication on a third-degree continuous family violence assault charge, meaning that he has not been found guilty at the time of sentencing and will have his offense dismissed if he doesn’t violate his probation.

Police said Ebbs beat and hospitalized his pregnant girlfriend, LaShonda Lemons, in Austin in 2019. Three days later, the unborn child died due to blunt force trauma. Lemons’ attorney, Kelsey McKay, said in court that Ebbs’ bond and an agreed-upon protective order mandated that he was to forfeit his guns – a move he has yet to make, KXAN reported.

Texas is a Soros DA state. He probably would have gotten more time in CA.

If its not a baby before its born, because mommy can pay to have it murdered, you can’t charge someone else with murdering it either.

This only means we charge people with unborn baby murder if mommy decides she wants it. This massively subjective “standard” is not how we determine whether a murder charge is handed down, whether the baby is viewed as inconvenient by the mother.

Thats not a moral basis for sound law. As it is right now its incredibly hypocritical. And personally subjective.

Texans don’t cotton to men who beat pregnant women. This deal makes no sense. This happened in the Independent Republic of Austin, not Texas.

If we’re not going to charge women with murder for killing their own child why should we charge a man with doing so?

Lately, Texas is getting to be synonymous with New York and California when it comes to protecting its citizens from crime...

Is Abbott losing his grip?

Brack Obama quote
I’ve got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.

THIS is what’s wrong in this country. No rule of law, no accountability, no consequences for your actions, no morality.
