An Indianapolis police sergeant faces federal charges after shocking body cam video captured him stomping on the face of a handcuffed homeless man’s face as he lay on the ground.
Sgt. Eric Huxley, 44, a 15-year veteran, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for violating the black man’s civil rights by using excessive force during the caught-on-video incident Sept. 24, 2021.
Huxley, who is white, was charged with one count of deprivation of rights under color of law while using a dangerous weapon, resulting in bodily injury.
The sergeant and two other officers — Sgt. Christopher Kibbey and officer Matthew Shores — were trying to arrest Jermaine Vaughn for disorderly conduct and forced him to the ground as he argued, Fox 59 reported.
“[The man] is on his backside on the ground, looking up at Ofc. Shores with his hands cuffed behind his back,” stated the probable cause affidavit, the news outlet reported.

Idiot cop
Enjoy your time in the pen, Sgt.
What would have happened if he had stomped “a white man’s face”?
Normal behavior around here.
Why federal charges? Is the state’s charges not sufficient to put this guy away for the rest of his life?

Good question. This was a battery, and worthy of a felony charge. I don’t see it as a racial incident at all, unless the cop was yelling racial slurs which I somehow missed.
I guess the civil rights charge was to get this case moved to a federal court. Then conviction is more certain. “If they want ya, they’ve got ya.”
Anybody care to guess if this was the FIRST AND ONLY questionable incident involving this cop? I would guess he has a colorful history of “questionable incidents” on his record.
He didn’t just snap out of nowhere.
Just in time for mid terms
“The city, police department and police Chief Randal Taylor also face a separate federal lawsuit claiming the two other officers who reported Huxley faced retaliation...”
And that’s why I don’t buy the “just a few bad apples” defense. When a good cop stands up to try to stop a bad one, the whole system closes ranks around the bad cop.
Doesn’t have to be racial to be a civil rights case. Anytime a police officer abuses their authority over a citizen, it’s a civil rights violation.

Thanks. That makes sense.
What kind of steroids was the idiot cop on, and shouldn’t it be a Felony for any public servant to take these dangerous steroids?

Chris Rock has a monologue about that (it’s not his more famous one about how not to get beat by the police).
In this monologue, Rock says that police are like airline pilots. You simply cannot have any bad apples in either profession. An airline company cannot say that 95% of their pilots are good. Only 5% might fly into mountains.
I realize that modern policing is a very complicated thing. But Rock does make a fair point. It’s just a shame that later in this monologue he turned it into a purely racial thing when it’s not. Plenty of white folks get abused by bad cops too.
Had an incident like this near my hometown in Arkansas.
Theree white cops beat a white suspect on the ground. The guy was resisting, but repeatedly slamming the guy’s head into the pavement isn’t an appropriate compliance technique.
They were all fired and are under investigation, from what I understand. At least the one slamming his head into the pavement needs jail time.
We had a lot of goodwill across the country after Floyd. We were going to come together to address the issue of excessive force and brutality. Unfortunately, the race baiters and democrats (but, I repeat myself) hijacked this situation for political purposes and you see where we are now.

Are you really going to try to defend this cops behavior?
Everyone, regardless of their melanin levels should be demanding this cops head.. this is absolutely outrageous on every level.
Nope, riots for everything these days
Have the jack boot lickers got here yet?
Agreed, saws that incident and yes its an outrage and the cop who was repeatedly bashing his head into the concrete absolutely should be up on criminal charges if he isn’t already.
