Fears of joint attack on Ukraine as more Russian troops arrive in Belarus

More Russian troops have arrived in Belarus for military training, prompting anxiety in Ukraine.

Some 9,000 Russian soldiers are expected to be stationed in Belarus for what is officially described as "exercises".

But the troop movement -- which began on Saturday -- has prompted speculation in the West that the manoeuvres could be in preparation for a new attack on Ukraine.

The last time Belarusian and Russian forces held joint exercises was in February. Many of those Russian forces went on to cross the Ukrainian border in their ill-fated push to capture Kyiv.

The exercises were announced last week by Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko who said his country and Russia would form a joint regional force.

Ukraine and Belarus share a large 1,000-kilometre border, which is largely wooded and unpopulated.

Concerns have also been raised that there could be a mobilisation of Belarussian reservists, although senior military officers in Belarus have dismissed this.

"All the fake information that is now published in various internet channels is not reliable, there is no reason to worry about it," claimed Alexander Shalpuk, a senior Belurassian officer, responsible for mobilisation.

"Citizens will be summoned to the military commissariat, their data will be noted, and they will depart to their place of work or place of residence. Mobilisation in the Republic of Belarus is not being carried out," he added.

An attack is impossible because putin died of cancer several months ago and russia has run out of men, tanks, planes , artillery and all ammunition and missiles. The ukraine needs to start planning their victory parade through moscow and decide how to devide the russian federation and all their natural resources.

I don’t anything about this. However more importantly. Does this song require more, or less cowbell?

But... but... Ukraine is forcing Belarus to invade, right? Just like it forced Russia to invade it?

Once again, Putin doesn’t look much like the alpha male in that relationship.

Suicide mission? It's the beginning of the end, not only of the war but probably of Ukraine, period.

Only someone as dumb as you, Marcus, could believe a country with air defense whatsoever could win a war.

If I was Russia, I’d be taking my sweet time before attacking Kiev again too, just to make sure the vehicles actually work, have fuel, and tires that won’t blow out after a day of driving.

The upcoming Belarus attack will be at the Ukrainian and Polish borders (which are all all under fire control at all crossings by Ukraine and Poland/NATO).

This is all about Putin/Lukashenko desperation in stopping NATO weapons transfer to Ukraine via Poland in that area.

With Belarus border 70 miles from Kyiv, the Ukes NOW have to plan for the possibility of a fast armored thrust coming from Belarus. Size of potential thrust unknown.

To do that the Ukes must provide a standing defensive force on their Northern border. Uke force size needed unknown. Moving troops NORTH lessens pressure on Russians in the SOUTH. Belarus feint may be nothing more than attempt to DIVIDE Uke forces.

You misspelled “strategic planning.”

(glad to proofread and offer suggestions to improve accuracy)
