Why did Trump agree to this in the first place is my question??

Why did Trump agree to this in the first place is my question??
A fair question. If he makes no mistakes, why do this? Logical people want to know.

Woodward's conclusion:
In the epilogue of “The Trump Tapes,” Woodward declares that his own past assessments critical of Trump’s presidency did not go far enough. In “Rage,” Woodward wrote, “Trump is the wrong man for the job.” ..... Now, Woodward says, “Trump is an unparalleled danger. The record now shows that Trump has led — and continues to lead — a seditious conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election, which in effect is an effort to destroy democracy.”

Has Woodward looked at the laptop?

That’s what many asked when we first heard of these interviews years ago. Trump lets exactly the wrong people in.

Why did Trump agree to this in the first place is my question?? Exactly my first thought. Why give this deep-state hack continued gravitas?
Trump seems to have the bad habit of thinking he can control, convert and earn respect from deep-state DC just through force of his personality

Why did Trump agree to this in the first place is my question?? A true mystery. Trump spent hours talking to anyone writing a tell-all book about him. Not a single one of those authors had anything positive to say. Yet Trump gave mountains of ammunition to each. Why?
To: ChicagoConservative27
The same reason he did 60 minutes interviews and kept trying to court good press from the NYT. He was in awe of these “institutions” and wanted a great write up. He grew up in a different era that has long passed.

Kurt Schlichter has done a good job of surmising what may be going on with Trump in these areas. He grew up in an era where the Ivy League colleges, military generals, and NYTimes/Wash Post had prestige, and he just can’t break from that paradigm.

I wouldn’t spray water on Woodward if he was on fire in my driveway.

Does anyone believe that even audio tapes are to be unaltered for content and bias?

Bad advice. Trump excels at self-promotion. He probably thought he could get positive PR from cooperating with Woodward, the man who teamed with Al Haig, (AKA "Deep Throat") to bring down the Nixon presidency to benefit G. H. W. Bush's political ambitions. The timing of releasing anything that can be spun negatively right before the midterms and Trump's possible return as Speaker of the House is not an accident.

Actually, "Deep Throat" was a petty little bureaucrat named
Mark Felt who was p*$$ed off that he had been passed over for promotion to director of the FBI.
While Haig might have been a statist POS, it was Felt's hurt feeling that motivated the entire Watergate fiasco.

will be released Oct. 25I figure he has to release it days before the midterms to get anyone to buy it. The media will find one 10 second piece of audio they think they can use to help their Dem friends and will advertise the book for free and Woodward will reap the profits from the idiot buyers. Same people that still have their pet rocks I suppose.

I love President Trump and would vote for him again in a heart but he really needs to learn when to STFU.
