St. Petersburg lawyer Andrei Nikiforov was drafted into the Russian army four days after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “partial” mobilization in a bid to solve the military’s manpower problems in the ongoing Ukraine war.
Less than two weeks later, Nikiforov became one of the first mobilized men to be killed as Ukraine pushed forward with its successful counteroffensive.
“His sister received the draft paper,” Alexander Zelensky, president of the Neva Bar Association of which Nikiforov was a member, told The Moscow Times. “He notified me about it, gathered his belongings the next day and went to the training center.”
Human rights lawyer Pavel Chikov wrote on Telegram on Thursday that Nikiforov was killed near the occupied Ukrainian city of Lysychansk on Oct. 7.
“He was a good person, honest and brave,” said Zelensky.
Reports of mobilized soldiers dying in Ukraine — from lawyers such as Nikiforov to residents of far-flung Siberian villages and even former Moscow officials — have emerged with increasing rapidity in recent days, suggesting that new soldiers have been thrown into battle with minimal training.
Three mobilized men aged 32, 40 and 42 from Siberia’s Krasnoyarsk region died in Ukraine on Oct. 8, local media reported Friday

Putin has been the best thing to happen to globalists since George Soros.
Wanna know why the latest Ukie Kherson offensive(s) failed?
Wanna know why Ukies are dying in the numbers they have been and still are?
Fresh Ukrainian troops sent into the meat grinder...
“THE RESERVES THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES HAS RUSHED TO BAKHMUT TURNED OUT TO BE SO FRESH THAT THEY HAD TO BE TRAINED “ON THE FLY.” An improvised base and firing range was set up at a fishing pier near Stake 8 (in the village of Khromovo), on the south-western outskirts of Artemovsk. The level of preparedness of the enemy reinforcements leaves much to be desired.”

This kind of thing can’t be good for military or national morale.
It’s like watching Hair all over again.
One way to get rid of too many lawyers...........
Update for Russian Ops vs. Ukraine for October 17, 2022
- Russian forces are closing in on Bakhmut city - with even the Western media noting the inevitability of Russia’s victory there;
- Ukrainian offensives are grinding to a halt - whatever additional gains they make will be temporary and inevitably reversed as Russia prepares what appears to be a major offensive of its own;
- Western media is depending heavily on propaganda to paper over severe weapon and ammunition shortages in Ukraine and the implications it has on Kiev’s fighting capacity;
- The US is lashing out with an increasingly desperate tone as nations around the globe refuse to subordinate themselves and their nation’s interests to US foreign policy objectives - India being among them;
The Moscow Times is to Russia as the New York Times is to America.
Many of us here at FR are vets. we at least got some training, or were raised with guns, hunted things that did not want to be killed, et al. Military taught us a little bit on how to kill things that very much wanted to kill us.
I have no interest in the war they are fighting other than it wears the Russian military down and shows us just how bad their tactics are.
Top down tyranny doesn’t work, in war, and peace.
I sleep better knowing the Chinese have the same problem, probably worse. They are really top heavy. Chairman, may I take a dump?
There will be no winners in Ukraine. Read Machiavelli and you will understand why.
I know, right? And yet we have the same merry band of Uke PR hustlers posting here daily from Daily Mail, Guardian, Telegraph, and now the Moscow Times. Anyone with a functioning brain knows it’s coming straight from the Ukrainian gov. 🤣
This kind of thing could become worse than what happened here due to the draft and what was happening re our casualties in Nam.
This is nothing like the 1940 to 1973 American draft.
They did Nazi that connection.
I’m not a fan of our part in it. That said Russia is invading them. Maybe they understand the situation and fight anyway. You completely discount their history or the possibility they will win. It’s a big sacrifice for Ukraine to make to continue this war, it may end in ruin. I applaud their bravery and love of country.
I saw an interesting press conference with Putin and the media yesterday. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen a leader take all the questions they had for him. Yes, they asked why these people had just been inducted and not much more than a week later they come up dead.
He did not deflect, but I did forget what he had to say about it. Let me find the link:
We saw that with Saddam's Iraq. Hitler almost pulled it off with the Third Reich. But Hitler attacked Stalin and refused to retreat during the Battle of the Stalingrad destroyed his army and ultimately the war.
The more dead Russians, the better.
Well, if you have better sources, please post them. There’s no need to keep them secret. I’m sure we will all benefit from your greater enlightenment. 🤨
Wind up the Spy vs. Spy propaganda ring in 5, 4, 3, 2....
And away we go!!!
Not much of anything on this thread will be truthful except that the sky is blue and water is too but that will also be called into doubt.
Post ‘em yourself, I’m not here to please you.
