Totally agree. And I should have made that clear. My point was that some folks preach too much outside of their field of expertise. And Gates is one of them.
As a side note, I have some experience dealing with the Gates Foundation. I was teaching at an urban high school at the time. And one day I got a packet from the Gates Foundation. Bill Gates wanted to give college scholarship money to students who were interested in science. I was to hand out applications to my students. How nice!
But wait. I was to hand out these applications to minority students only. Skip over the poor Italian kids and the poor Irish kids. Students of European descent were not eligible for the program, regardless of their ability or their need.
To hell with racist Gates and his racist program. I wanted no part of it. I threw the entire packet in the garbage.
