She got a hand pay and the casino people insisted on walking us to our car, they gave us no choice in the matter. Congrats to your wife! Getting a hand pay at a casino is my dream, never fulfilled. Be glad the staff walked you two to your car. There have been instances of people driving away from a casino, after a big win, being followed to their homes prior to being robbed. So you still need to be careful until safely locked into your home. (Darn thieves can be anywhere.)

We were staying at Caesars Palace on that trip. The jackpot was won at MGM Grand. I remember us putting most of the money into the hotel safe and then taking about a thousand of it and walking over to the Venetian where we splurged on a very expensive Italian dinner, down by where they have those indoor gondolas. We ordered a $200 bottle of wine. Felt like a big shot peeling off those hundred dollar bills to pay the bill. Tipped really good as well.
If you win a jackpot, I say you should splurge a little.
