Beside the substance of their comments, the impressions made by Lake and Hobbs on that CNN segment are completely opposite. Lake is attractive, confident, offers assurance that she is engaged. Hobbs appears frumpy, hesitant and uninspiring. It might seem Hobbs decision to avoid a debate is bad, but she must really know that a side by side comparison would be worse.
Hobbs has the maturity level and intellect of a dull 12 year old with an IQ in the 80’s. She’s in way over her head. She never should have been voted in as the AZ Sec of State.
Definitely a Post Turtle. She was placed there by the Soros Syndicate. Being dumb and pliable is how the democrat machine likes them these days. Just look at Biden, AOC, Pelosi, Hochul, Fetterman, Harris, and so many other dems in elected office today. Mind numbingly dull.

Katie Hobbs is one of several democrats refusing to debate in the country.
They saw Biden “win” by campaigning from his basement.
Katie looks weak. Kari looks strong.
Not sure that was imploding. Hobbs is one of the weakest candidates for governor I have ever seen contrasted against Lake who is quite possibly the strongest I have ever seen. In a fair election here in AZ, Lake wins by 20 points.
We must not allow skittish Democrats to redefine "debating" as appearing separately on the same show with the same interviewer.
As the author points out, Lake does not have the opportunity to directly challenge Hobbs. Hobbs is relying on the interviewer to not probe too deeply into her positions, something which Lake would do relentlessly on a debate stage.
Conversely, Hobbs knows that she could never effectively challenge Lake in-kind, making her look weak and unassertive compared to Lake.
This is why Hobbs prefers to have a staged, seated and favorably lighted split-frame discussion with a friendly moderator, than be seen standing side-by-side with Lake on a debate stage.

Hobbs is pathetic and a terrible candidate with nothing to run on at all.She had no good answer as to why she would not debate kari and it showed big time.
Hobbs is the perfect example of a San Francisco democRAT. Many years ago a San Francisco democRAT actually told the truth: ‘if we don’t win, we don’t eat.’ Getting up every day and working for a living is anathema to them. Sacrifice, saving money, doing without. I worked in vocational training for many decades. I cannot tell you how many times I witnessed the American dream in action for legal immigrants. Perhaps the first or second generation is not successful in a material sense. However, they laid the foundation for future generations to thrive, and were incredible role models for families and neighbors.
Even the so-called ‘poor’ in America live a life of luxury compared with most others in the world. Running water, hot running water, clean water, abundant inexpensive energy (except for Kalifornia).
