We got a free turkey a couple of years ago like that. Froze it and cooked it in July. Invited friends and family over for Thanksgiving in July. So thankful we did. Amy is no longer with us. Passed away December 31 2020, not covid. She was 40, pg, and her heart stopped. But they saved the baby. So thankful I got to see Amy July 2019!!!!
But you don’t know our neighbors! Harmless but not the people you want to hang around with! Each one a bit strange. Three of them were arguing over the fence lot line. We try to stay out of it all!
Almost no one BBQ’s a steak, they are usually grilled... Large chunks of meat are usually used for BBQ as in Briskets, hams, and pork roasts...
One method is hot and fast, the other is low and slow... I like and do both for two entirely different results...
Most Yankees don’t know the difference...
Just think, you can spend $400 this year and almost get as much as you did last year!
Oh, how sad. But glad that you could have the memory of a wonderful July Thanksgiving with her.
This is the best reason to cherish Holiday dinners. We never know when, or if, we will see all these loved ones again.
Generic frozen turkeys go on sale just before Thanksgiving.
New one to me.
I’ve seen buffalo often because in Michigan Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan set up a sanctuary for them in Michigan. Living ones.
The museum is all indoors but goes from the top of the cliff to the bottom and as you go from top to bottom you learn how the indigenous ones did their dirty work.
On a completely different note, while touristing my way through Canada I came across an oddly large number of women who had the same story: moved where they were to be with a man, got dumped, and are now stuck there because they don't make enough money to move somewhere else.
Interesting.
Up to now all I knew about Native Americans was from hearing the reminiscences of Liz Warren. 😇
Classic Rockwell cover painting....
Kids today might think that was fiction but millions actually lived that (not everyone—my parents were divorced (2.5% rate then) but we always had family meals and Thanksgiving anyway.)
And it’s good to have a goal and an ideal of love and togetherness. Today’s decline of so many good things and upswing of depression and suicides are evidence of that.
We have a tradition on Thanksgiving.
We all sign a linen tablecloth with a sharpie and date it.
It’s nice to see all the names and dates while you eat dinner.
Had those when I was little.
Divide and conquer. IT WORKS!
man between the leftovers from a thanksgiving turkey. eat lots of turkey sandwiches for a long time
I agree. Maybe they are just grumpy Scrooge types who didn’t want to bother anyway. Everyone brings dishes to share, the typical dishes are not expensive, just doesn’t make sense.
No problem guys. I just called the White House. They said Joe will be given us all the bird for as long as he is POTUS.
Are we not to celebrate Thanksgiving for the blessings of Joe Biden? Ask Joe Biden.
Joe Biden and the Demonicrats.
God’s curse on America.
Absolutely...part of God’s judgment falling on a rotting America.
