While I don’t think it is a great idea for anyone to get a tattoo

I’ve always thought that too. until my wife Joy passed away in 2018 and at age 73 I got my first and last tattoo. Her name inside a small heart on my left forearm. My kids, all adults, were shocked but they all liked me having their mom’s name on my arm.

That's a totally appropriate use of a tattoo. I'm sorry for your loss. It's wonderful that your kids are onboard with your tattoo. I'm sure they love and miss their mom, as you miss her too.

The tattoos that bother me are the "bad ass" tattoos like Fetterman's "I will make you hurt" tattoo. Fetterman is not a tough guy. He is a big fat guy, with skinny girl legs and no muscle tone. He wears an actor's Halloween costume: the hoodie, the goatee, the shaved head, the tattoos. The huge tumorous growth on his neck is a bonus. He isn't the first to don this masquerade. And he isn't fooling anybody with his pantomime.

I bet a 120 pound Asian guy with a modicum of martial arts training could kick Fetterman's butt.
