The world's richest man, Elon Musk, has scented a new opportunity to capitalise on quirky products, launching a perfume called Burnt Hair that he said sold 10,000 bottles to earn a million dollars in just a few hours.
"With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable β why did I even fight it for so long!?" Musk asked on Twitter, where he now describes himself as a perfume salesman.
"The essence of repugnant desire" is the website description of his latest offering, which costs $100 a bottle and is set to start shipping in the first quarter of 2023, making good on a product Musk first touted in September.

A claimed 70 percent of electric car buyers said they would miss the smell of gas when switching to a plug-in vehicle. This is according to Ford, which to promote its upcoming Mach-E GT has created a fragrance intended to smell like petroleum....
This will become a collector’s item.
Times are such that the Bee is first suspected. Wow.
There are no shortage of fools these days.
I wish I could sell that much of my Starving fArtist cologne. It comes in a nude bottle and smells like turpentine and linseed oil.
Actually, the scent was born after the entire liberal population experienced their heads exploading.
dare I suggest Elon has bigger matters that need attention. check the size of the “fragments”. give thanks no-one has been injured so far. If Trump was still President, this article would be entirely different:
12 Oct: ABC Australia: SpaceX spacecraft fragments to be collected from NSW Snowy Mountains farms to be stored, sent overseas
PHOTO CAPTION: Four pieces of SpaceX space debris have been found near Dalgety, Jindabyne and Tumbarumba since July.
The collection of SpaceX debris from sheep and cattle farms NSW Snowy Mountains has begun, although space experts are asking why it hasn’t happened sooner.
Pieces of the SpaceX Dragon capsule have been discovered in the region since July 9, after residents heard a loud bang believed to be from the spacecraft re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere...
Confirmation that the pieces are being collected comes as no surprise to US astronomer at the Harvard—Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics, Jonathan McDowell...
“Every time a debris survival like this happens, it adds to the feeling of needing to be more careful and more tidy than we have been.”...
ANU space law expert Dr Cassandra Steer always anticipated that the pieces would be sent back to the US in line with international treaty obligations, but says it should have been a faster process.
“The US is responsible and then SpaceX would only be responsible under domestic US law if there were any costs to recover,” she said...

For sure that smell was in the air on November 8th 2016.
“Burnt Hair”
How many of the 10K bottles were purchased by Joe Biden? He must have bought a bunch to handle his hair sniffing addiction.

If it is like Kuwaiti gasoline, made from sweet crude and no ethanol, I might buy it.
Musk really sold this scent? I saw the tweet and assumed it was a joke.
LOL!
βIs that cabbage, Gheorge?β
With the fire issues some of his cars have, I guess this is one way to capitalize on it.
“Honey - is your Tesla on fire!!??”
“Oh no. That is my new cologne!”
With Musk, I’m never sure if it’s satire or his real-life absurdness. But I don’t get this... was there some story I missed about someone’s hair being on fire? And was it literal (Michael Jackson) or metaphorical (Roger Clemens).
Fun fact: there have been a few fires that were surprising effects of unseen damage, and those that happened take a real long time to put out, but a Tesla is way less likely to catch fire than the traditional, mobile gas can-style cars.
