Democratic nominee for Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that she won’t debate her opponent, Republican nominee Kari Lake because she spews lies.
Mitchell said, “You have refused to take part in the lone debate with Kari Lake, giving her 30 minutes to present her ideas without any pushback. You said you don’t want to participate in a spectacle. How is it productive to give her a platform where she will not be challenged?”
Hobbs said, “I think you said it yourself in the intro that all three top Republicans are election deniers. How do you debate someone who refuses to accept the truth, who doesn’t live in facts? It doesn’t do any service to the voters in terms of deciding, looking at the contrast between us and how we’re going to govern if all she’s going to do is shout over me and interrupt me and spew lies? In fact, PBS is giving me the same format that Kari Lake has. She certainly won’t go unanswered. We looked for opportunities for formats where I can talk directly to voters without the spectacle that Kari Lake is going to create. We’re going to have the same opportunity here that she has as well.”

Oh really, Isn’t PBS a government funded organization. How can they legally donate time to a candidate? This reeks with the type of hypocracy that is going to see the democrats get voted out of power.
Well, Katie, if you’re right and Kari Lake is wrong, you should welcome the opportunity to show Ms. Lake up in front of an audience.
I’m sure Mitch and Kevin are fine with Uniparty hacks refusing to debate MAGA candidates.
GOP Establishment has spent the past 50 years making sure that Conservative voters have no seat at the political table.
The fact that we’re sick of it and are taking matters into our own hands is a “threat to democracy”.
Lake should buy airtime and conduct a mock debate without Hobbs. Have a panel ask real questions and answer them. Put a cardboard cutout of Hobbs on stage. Make sure the image looks ugly as sin or have her dressed as a drag queen. Mock the hell out of Hobbs and give the idea of a mock debate a new meaning.

I’ve heard and seen Kari Lake. She’s very sharp and quick-witted. Hobbes thinks she can just cheat her way to the elections and do nothing but actually work and debate. the horrors..
Then what better way to refute the "lies" than meet her head-on in debate? Sheesh, that has the be the dumbest excuse I've ever heard.
Exactly my thoughts. If Kari Lake is full of these lies, Katie should be eager to educate the voters with her own superior judgement and grasp of the facts. She should be eager to debate such an opponent.
Debate lies with truth. If it’s on your side. Pivot. You do not have to respond to everything.
I listened to Hobbs a few times. If she doesn’t have a cookie cutter response read she sound like an idiot. Although that generally gets people elected.

By bringing facts to the table and convincing the voters who is right and who is wrong. Dodging the debate is admitting you have no facts to bring to bear!
