Greta Thunberg reverses course on nuclear power, argues Germany is making a mistake by taking plants offline [Good for her!]

Germany has spent two decades gradually phasing out nuclear power plants

Climate activist Greta Thunberg argued against taking Germany's remaining nuclear power plants offline, an apparent reversal on an energy source she has previously said she is against.

"I personally think it's a very bad idea to focus on coal when [nuclear power] is already in place," Thunberg told German public television Tuesday, according to a Deutsche Welle report.

The comments come as Germany and other European countries grapple with an energy crisis amid Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine, with most of the continent cut off from Russian natural gas they were previously dependent on for energy.

The crisis has caused Germany to look towards coal as a way of making up the shortfall, something Thunberg argued was a "mistake" with the country still having nuclear plants operational.

"It depends. If you have them already running, I feel it's a mistake to close them and focus on coal," the climate activist said.

However, Thunberg has not always been as sympathetic to the case for nuclear energy, saying in 2019 that she is "against nuclear power."

"It can be a small part of a very big new carbon free energy solution, especially in countries and areas that lack the possibility of a full scale renewable energy supply - even though it's extremely dangerous, expensive and time-consuming," she said at the time.

Thunberg made clear that the long term solution for the country was still to look toward renewable energy sources, acknowledging the debate around nuclear power is "very infected."

Germany's nuclear power plants have long been the source of heated debate in the country, with the German government passing a law to gradually phase out nuclear power over 20 years ago.

“Good for her!”...but that could change at any time without notice or warning.

Look, she’s a female. Females are generally equivocal. And they also generally feel no need to explain their change of mind nor offer any rationale behind it. If they do, fine, but often they don’t. Either way they generally feel they’re not obligated to rationalize what is often their conflicting actions or views.

Why? IMO and Biblically, it’s because they generally belong in the home taking care of their husbands and children who they love and creating a beautiful home. That’s how God made them and that is where they are happiest. Competing with men is like cats trying to be dogs. Leaves them lost, dazed, and confused. They, families, and all of society have suffered as a result.

This is one area of the Lying Leftist spirit of antichrist that the True Right has yet to renounce.

Keep it up, Greta, and you won’t be the Left’s environmental poster child anymore.

Thorium Reactors.

Big enough to power a city, small enough to bury underground for safety.

When she gets cold enough and tired of living without power, she’ll change more and be less ungrateful for what she had.

She’s 18 years old, born in 2003. What could she possibly have to contribute to the discussions?

I cannot wait to see what she gets her degree in, and from where.

It will probably be in popping out little piglets that need energy to live comfortably.

All the Greta pictures I’ve seen in the past have her frowning. I googled her. Not bad looking when she smiles.

Amazing how she’s attracted so much attention.

Everyone is a leftist...until it affects them directly.

Case in point: The planeload of illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard last month.

Don't get too comfortable in the notion that leftists like nuclear power. As soon as we get too dependent on it, they'll figure out why it's now bad for us.

Look at how they're doing natural gas. The same natural gas that the Dims in the U.S. forced many power companies to switch to while shutting down coal plants. Natural gas was supposed to be the clean fuel --- until the Dims changed their mind. Now that talk like natural gas is more dangerous to us than standing between Brandon and a small white girl.

Nuclear power is no different. We won't win the argument of energy by the physics. We have to win the argument by telling the Dims they can't use energy polices to control us anymore.

There are many “greens” who know that nuclear power is the most practical answer we have to meeting our energy needs.

However, they are attacked by other factions of the radical left like everyone else. The nihilist left (my term) wants an end result and they will destroy anything that gets in the way......
