Trump Slams McConnell for Reportedly Pulling Funds From Arizona Senate Race

Former President Donald Trump took a public shot at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. on Monday, criticizing the Kentucky Republican for bolstering the reelection campaign of Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, by reportedly diverting funds away from Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters.

“The Old Broken Crow, Mitchell McConnell, is authorizing $9 Million Dollars to be spent in order to beat a great Republican, Kelly [Tshibaka], instead of $9 Million Dollars that could be used for Blake Masters, and other Republicans, that with this money would beat their Democrat opponent," wrote Trump in a statement, posted on Truth Social.

In a nutshell, Trump presumably doesn't think it's wise to pull campaign funds from Masters' battle with incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz. — a typical Republican vs. Democrat competition for the Nov. 8 midterm elections. After all, in Alaska, the top two candidates for the Senate seat are both Republicans — the incumbent Murkowski, and the Trump-backed challenger Tshibaka.

Masters and Tshibaka have already garnered Trump endorsements; and Murkowski voted to convict in Trump's second impeachment trial, which covered from the Jan. 6, 2021 unrest at the Capitol.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, the Senate Leadership Fund, a Republican PAC with ties to McConnell, funded radio, TV, and Web ads in Alaska, knocking Tshibaka's credibility as a candidate over Murkowski.

McConnell has been a target of criticism from within the Republican ranks in recent months.

As Newsmax chronicled in August, McConnell seemingly dismissed the "candidate quality" of certain GOP Senate contenders, while hinting that Republicans could fall short of taking back the Senate in the midterms.

It might have also been a subtle jab at Trump, whose stable of endorsement Senate challengers includes Masters (Arizona), Tshibaka (Alaska), JD Vance (Ohio), state Attorney General Eric Schmitt (Missouri),

"I think there's probably a greater likelihood the House flips [to Republicans] than the Senate," McConnell said during the summer. "Senate races are just different. They're statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome."

That comment sparked outrage from Republican voters and leaders, including Trump, who called for McConnell to be replaced in the Senate leadership, in favor of someone who would project confidence for the upcoming election cycles.

McConnell doesn’t want to be in the majority because then he’d have to handle the impeachment trial of Biden.

Pulling funds from a Republican trying to defeat a Democrat, and giving them to a Republican RINO trying to defeat another Republican

With scum like McConnell, Republicans don’t need enemies. It has become abundantely clear why Republicans in Congress did nothing when they had the majorities in both houses—two faced McConnell and his ilk (Burr, Sasse, Toomey etc)

I’ve been getting calls from the GOP fundraiser.

I tell them “Stop right there- I ONLY donate to Trump supported candidates” and hang up.

McConnell’s first goal is to remain the leader of Senate Republicans, whether in the minority or majority. So he isn’t going to support Republicans that might go against him. Simple as that. This is why you donate directly to the candidate, not the party.

Compare them to Biden's last two years of aggressive actions from Congress. The GOP doesn't do anything for their constituents, giving them the majority accomplishes only one thing, the Dems don't have the majority.

The last thing China wants is a bunch of Trump Maga senator running around and screwing things up with China Joe in the White House. Mitch does not want to piss of his wife and handlers, both of these are China.

IMO that Mitch was a big part of the stolen elections in 2020. While maybe not a direct participant but a major contribution in the cover up.

McConnell doesn't want 'his' party taken over by MAGA, and he would prefer that a MAGA republican to get defeated by a Democrat any day.

I think McConnell would be happy to be Majority Leader again if his fellow republican Senators were all RINOs like himself.

Because America First doesn't allow Republicans to sell out to China.

I’m curious what purpose it serves for NEWSMAX to reprint this old news, except as clickbait.

Perhaps someone can elucidate the value of mr trump name calling? It seems he can be just as critical, perhaps even more effective, if he just spoke. You would think that since surveys repeatedly show that independent and other gop voters are somewhat put off by trumps personality he would reign in the excesses. But that’s just me. I’d rather win than lose votes. But some folks feel better losing but being able to be as obnoxious as the situation demands.

The good news is that is the candidates McConnell snubbed WIN, and they are going to, they owe precisely ZIP to McConnell.

We do owe McConnell some love for blocking the elevation of Merrick Garland to SCOTUS (he’s doing a lot of harm as AG, but other Dems would have been available for that).

I’m so sick of hearing “thank God Mitch blocked Merrick Garland from SCOTUS”.

Good lord!!! Do you think, at the time, that evil turtle thought Trump would win and get 3 SCOTUS picks???

He was planning on either Jeb winning, and appointing another John Roberts or two. Or better yet, he was hoping Hillary would win.

Trump won over Evangelicals by promising to pick Conservatives for SCOTUS. Think Mitch had anything to do with that? Think Mitch was happy about that?

Trump’s victory threw a wrench in Mitch’s plans. He’d be happier than a pig in excrement if Garland became SCOTUS, as long as he could weasel out of getting any blame for it.

Mitch has ZERO redeeming qualities, along with at least 47 of the rest of the worthless, backstabbing GOP Senators, and 85% of GOP Congressmen.

Yes indeed. All that Senate campaign money is going to save Murkowski in Alaska. What a damn shame.

Oh, mean-tweets again, right?

If your sensibilities are offended by President Trump, not "Mr. Trump", speaking the truth and using words/phrases that you don't like, to accurately describe his disdain/dislike for some of the Traitors in our midst maybe you should just sit this one out and let those willing to fight take care of things for you.
