technology has completely changed how countries fight wars: precision airstrikes, drones and now… militarized robot dogs. Jim Lewis, @Galactic_Trader on Twitter, shared a video early Monday that showed a Chinese robot dog (with machine gun)(added) dropped off by a drone.

Gonna be a lot of orders for those .50 cal rifles with robot penetrating rounds.
“In response to a Twitter post of a humanoid robot made by Boston Robotics jumping up on raised surfaces with the caption, “we dead,” Musk responded with a warning: “This is nothing. In a few years, that bot will move so fast you’ll need a strobe light to see it.”
“On Monday, defense stocks were some of the only ones that were in the green. Lockheed Martin Corp (NYSE: LMT), Northrop Grumman Corp (NYSE: NOC) and Raytheon Tech (NYSE: RTX) all closed higher on Monday, while the overall markets were red. “
The 600 series had rubber skin
So?
You’d be pleased to see what US SOCOM and the USAF are doing with all sorts of robots and drones.
I think I saw this episode of “Black Mirror”
Can I get one of those as a service dog?
As long as it isn’t a pit bull model.
What happened to the real canines?
It will be a terrible future if China rules the World.
... but they won't be any match for the Chinese menace ...
Its interesting how China always comes out with high tech military equipment that is almost identical to that first seen in the USA. This looks like a reverse engineered device made by Darpa funded Boston Dynamics.

I have the golden retriever model. Although extremely friendly, he tends to get a bit ill tempered. We fitted him with a frikin laser beam on his head. Chasing after random crap captures the kinetic energy and converts it to electricity that powers the weapon.
The science behind it was a bit complicated to figure out, but he’s a smart dog and his theory on kinetic energy worked. Only issue we had with it was without opposable thumbs, he had to tell us how to build it.
He’s been using it now for about two years. Picks off the deer that roam the golf course by my home and every now and then zaps a liberal at the dog park.

Lunch.

I wonder if every intelligent species that develops technology in the universe ends up extinguishing itself with the bots it creates.
Bradbury saw the future and warned us.
We decided to call it fiction.
I’m very skeptical of the video. It looks like toy stuff, lacking the heft and power of a drone sized to carry a payload that heavy. And then it cuts to a different view/zoom level when Fido-matic comes to life. Barely a step above Godzilla movies, IMO...
