I don’t want Ukraine to stoop to Poroshenko’s level, or Russia’s.

Problem they’ve got is that it can’t just stick to taking out tanks, artillery and conscripts according to the rules of engagement, and expect to win. And people who’ve been on the receiving end of the civilian killings are not always in a forgiving state of mind.

There’s some perverse thinking going on to the effect that Shock And Awe with massive collateral damage (as approved in the new Russian commander’s carte blanche for everything except nukes) is legit but Ukraine can’t even be allowed to hit a legitimate military target without it being classified by Russia as terrorism.

Ukraine might well decide, if even gloating over the Kerch Bridge will get their country pounded they might as well go for broke, and attack Russia from the inside.

Yes, I think that the turning point in the Russia/Ukraine war will come quite soon. Russia is transporting by rail many tanks and troops to Belarus. I expect that the next phase of the war will be a massive “no holds barred” invasion of Ukraine from Belarus by Russian troops.

I expect that Ukraine will not stand by and let this happen. I fully expect Ukraine to target Russian military gathering points in Belarus and destroy as many of them outside of Ukrainian soil.

I honestly expect that Russia is aware that this could happen and doesn’t care about collateral damage on either side of the Belarus/Ukraine border.
