PETALING JAYA: The United States will charge a Malaysian man, with a “Datuk Seri” title, with conspiracy to engage in wildlife trafficking and money laundering.
In a statement, the US Attorney for the southern district of New York said Teo Boon Ching, 57, was extradited from Thailand yesterday after he was arrested in June for his second wildlife trafficking offence.
US attorney Damian William said Teo was a leader of a transnational criminal enterprise which trafficked rhinoceros horns and enriched poachers who killed endangered animals.
Teo, who is said to have businesses in Malaysia and Thailand, had allegedly trafficked and smuggled rhinoceros horns.
“Teo served as a specialised smuggler, transporting rhinoceros horns from rhinoceros poaching operations primarily in Africa to the eventual customers primarily in Asia. Teo also claimed to be able to ship rhinoceros horns to the US,” the charge against him read.

At the root it’s probably another Fedzilla money grab, not just against the accused, but sanctions and US asset seizures against China and other countries. The Brandon administration hasn’t pissed off the whole world yet, but is working on it.
Yes, the geopolitical guys I listen to were talking about the Swamprats starting China on the sanctions ladder.
If Teo’s operation worked in the U.S., it becomes a federal case.
Meanwhile Teo is on the horns of a dilemma.
I prefer how Africa deals with poachers...shoot them dead.
I’m surely no fan of The Big Guy’s Department of Just Us but I’m even less of a fan of those who trade in rhino horns. I’ve seen several rhinos...in the wild...and to call the experience “amazing” would be an understatement. They’re being hunted to the point of extinction because some Asians believe that the horns’ dust will make their thingy grow.
Even if the Kenyans have no particular love for their wildlife if that wildlife disappears their economy, dependent almost entirely on tourism, collapses. I guarantee you that apart from the wildlife there's *no* reason for an affluent Westerner or Japanese to bring their dollars, euros or yen to Kenya!
Tsavo? That’s where the man eating lions were.
Is that a real story, or just a movie with Val Kilmer and Michael Douglass?
Ted Kennedy really blesesed this nation with open borders and overwhelming immigration. We have so many blessings from diversity.
