Don’t worry the Post Office is going to deliver our Midterm Election ballots!!!!!
Maybe there won’t be a 2024 Election. Actually, all we need to do is total up who raises the most money and declare the winner based on that. But it if people haven’t figured it out already who they are going to vote for...what’s the use?
Not runners with cleft sticks?
My local USPS (weekday) delivery guy is real nice (Japanese-Hawaiian) and he stops and chats with me in Japanese to make sure I don’t forget too much.
The weekend guy is a youngish (20s, maybe) that just drops (literally) the box in front of the door without even knocking, and scoots off.
I usually hear the box hit the front door (and usually the boxes are heavy boxes of cans of food, which end up dented because of that).
On the other hand, I know exactly the type you are talking about. Most of those here on the islands are the ones behind the counters, and are very rude. Also, many packages ‘disappear’ from behind those counters.
Actually when the first US stamps were issued in 1847 it cost 5 cents to mail a letter 500 miles or less, anything over 500 miles was 10 cents. That is equal to $1.81 or $3.62 in todays dollars. In the case of the post office you are actually getting a service that costs far less than it did 175 years ago.
As I see it you’ve made an even more persuasive argument for my premise.
Gooberment by the sheeple. Half of half don’t deserve to vote for starters. They contribute nothing but take most of it. A chunk of the other half aren’t responsible enough to vote and should not.
Public service unions a gift from JFK.

I don’t disagree with the problems with our government you display and others you didn’t as they are too many. I just said they are caused not because of the style of government but by certain practitioners of it. And that’s where you and I differ in our observations.
You said:
“It is time for it to disappar because almost anything that replaces it can be better.”
Strongly disagree there as it has been changed and it isn’t working even with the same misused basics it contains put in over 200 years ago that worked for most of those years. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel to move the cart. Just fix the bad wheels.
Today, more than 40 million people living in the U.S. were born in another country, accounting for about one-fifth of the world’s migrants. Those are the legal ones. So if we are the fifth highest legit immigrant country in the world, then we must have done something right in our history to entice them. But we did so good a job that it is getting harder to get in because you can’t put 6 gallons in a 5 gallon container.
So the decisions we make now will be so important for the protection of our country in the future. And the only ways to do that is two ways, invite disaster with another form of government that will not take the stress of our pressure using current favorites like socialism or the greatest threat, middle eastern theories, or, go back to what worked by putting (voting) people in power to right the ship with past successful theories. I think the answer is obvious. One is easier, the other has a legit possibility of working. But that’s up to the voters to do their part intelligently. And that takes the concerned and educated thinking that has been evaded and dumbed down in the US for, at least, half a dozen generations. Harder it is, but more successful it can go back to.
