Deputy Treasury Sec’y: ‘Gas Prices Should Continue Coming Down,’ Gas Station Owners Should Lower Prices
bre ^ | 10/8/2022 | Ian Hantchett

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said that the Biden administration thinks gas prices “should continue coming down,” and there have been “historic spreads between the cost of crude oil and the cost that’s being paid at the pump. So, we’re calling on those who own those gas stations to bring down the price.”

Host Andrea Mitchell asked, “Bottom line, can you do anything to bring down gas prices between now and the election a month from now?”

Adeyemo responded, “So, Andrea, we think that gas prices should continue coming down, because we’ve seen historic spreads between the cost of crude oil and the cost that’s being paid at the pump. So, we’re calling on those who own those gas stations to bring down the price. But in addition to that, we’ve already seen that, over the course of this last month, we’ve seen a release of the SPR that has helped to keep prices lower than they were at their highs this summer. And we’re committed to taking every other action that we can to try and bring down prices over the course of the next few days, the next few months, and over the course of the next years because we know how important this is to the American people.”

They’re gaslighting you...trying to convince you that you’re being robbed by the providers, rather than by them.

Lord help us if these creeps manage to fix the election and come out ahead, it’s going to be an absolute nightmare. Gas prices will hit near $10 a gallon even above. Their whole agenda is to destroy the US economy which they know they won’t be able to do if they lose November 8th. That’s the ONLY reason they want the price to come down now. But if they “win”, they will immediately stab the country in the back. I pray they lose.

We have what’s left of a free enterprise capitalistic system. If people don’t 8 track cartridges or dial telephones and choose to buy their improved successors, we aren’t forced as in Communist countries to buy what the government bosses demand.———but Dems are working on destroying that as we speak.

So if a gas station loses 40 cents on each gallon sold after getting tanker truck deliveries at a higher cost all week, are they supposed to go out of business to please Joe Biden or his handlers?

If you can’t trust a Nigerian, who can you trust?…

General M'Bugaboo is a Nigerian, and I trust him. I've already quit my job in anticipation of the money he's going to put in my bank account.

Or creating that product.

It doesn’t go from the ground to the gas pump. They forget that too.

Many already sell at a loss.. if they are lucky they make a few cents a gallon profit. Until a tank needs to be replaced or a pump fails.

Around here, they bumped the prices 20 cents a gallon on news of the Saudi-Russian deal. Prices had been below $3/gallon. Immedidate bump to $3.19 at most area stations. Looks like Kroger, and Texaco are up to 3.20, but the Murphy in front of Walmart is back down to $3.04 with Quiktrip and Racetrack in the $3.16 - $3.18 range.

It appears that this administration is under several false assumptions:

1) The SPR is bottomless and oil can be removed forever
2) Gas stations make lots of money selling gas, and will be willing to sell at a loss to help elect Democrats
3) Inflation is under control

There appear to be two possible explanations
1) They are hopelessly misinformed, have no idea how the real world works and are naive to the point of children
or
2) They are deliberately trying to run America into the ground by destroying our moral compass, economy, reducing our armed forces to be equal to Mexico by draining fuel, equipment, and manpower and allow a fifth column of illegal aliens destroy small communities, thereby making us a third world nation.

I guess all of the above is also a possible explanation

Because gas station owners are all MAGA Republicans who are keeping prices high deliberately to hurt the Biden Administration in the midterms - OK, I get it now. /s

How about grocery stores lowering their prices? Or perhaps landlords lowering rent? Cable/satellite companies lowering their fees? Cell phone providers lowering their fees? Wow, fixing inflation is soooooo easy!
