Cuba was a U.S. possession that wanted to be independent. The Philippines likewise. Most recently, Samoa. If you knew about Chechnya you would have known why I said “maybe” instead of act so stupid about it. If you knew about U.S. history, you would not have made the ridiculous statement you made about what we would do with places that want independence. We are the United States. Both parts of our name are important. We are states that are united. The old Soviet constitution said much the same thing. But, that constitution was a lie. Your republics were not free to declare independence. Even when your leaders signed documents recognizing independence, Putin can use military force to reunite the republic to Muscovy.

Stop implying I’m Russian. I repeat, how would the U.S respond to Hawaii wanting out of U.S using the barrel of a gun.

Cuba was a protectorate of United States. It wasn’t a republic or a state within the overall U.S country. You know damn well how the U.S would deal with an armed independence drive by Hawaiian kanaka. They’d crush it. Same goes for any other state that went down that path
