"The truth is on our side and truth is strength!" Vladimir Putin boomed into a microphone on Red Square last week, after a grand ceremony at which he proclaimed four large chunks of Ukrainian territory to be part of Russia.
"Victory will be ours!"
But in the real world, things look very different.
Even as Russia's president signed his illegal annexation treaties in the Kremlin, Ukrainian forces were advancing inside the areas he had just seized. Hundreds of thousands of men have been fleeing Russia rather than be drafted to fight in an expanding war.
And things are going so badly on the battlefield that Mr Putin and his loyalists are now reframing what they once claimed was the "de-Nazification" of Ukraine and the protection of Russian speakers as an existential fight against the entire "collective" West.
That is the truth and none of it is on Russia's side.

You should have seen the videos and pictures of this...it was on a Ukranian military base and building after building after building on fire. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to post videos or pictures, but here is a Ukrainian Telegram Channel post about it.

The economic implosion of Europe is assured.
Most Europeans are just in denial/1st stage of grief to acknowledge such.
Although Russia may yet stabilize the front through mass mobilization, its new conscripts will be poorly trained, poorly equipped, and poorly motivated. They will suffer severe losses. With help from the West, Ukraine is likely to prevail, even in a long struggle defined by positional warfare and attrition.
Meanwhile, the Russian economy will contract and its state finances will deteriorate to the point of bankruptcy. Within a year at most, Putin will be out and Russia will disintegrate without Western help. Or, seeing what is coming, one or more Russian patriots will cap Putin and hope for better.
Good thing there are zero Ukie casualties.

And let’s not get into attrition, cause if you are using that as a measurement for success, the Russians and Donbass militia kicking the sh*t out of the Ukrainians.
Furthermore, this latest batch of Ukrainian pushes have resulted in nearly all of Ukraine’s reserves from Odessa, Kyiv, etc. being pulled to keep ‘the momentum’ of the pushes from faltering.
