Nobody cares about Biden taking money from Ukraine (or Kazakhstan, or some other vaguely corrupt kakistocracy). This is penny ante stuff - Ukraine doesn’t have thousands of nukes pointed at the US. But if the Ukrainian prosecutor had determined that Biden was taking money from Putin via a Ukrainian cutout - that would have been a big deal, and perhaps kiboshed his 2020 presidential run. That’s why he was determined to quash it.
