I want to be careful how I say this.
Is there really a need to test all mothers or all pregnant women?
If a woman is monogamous is she really at high enough risk that we just want to automatically test her?
Sure let’s go ahead and test people who are at risk for a disease. But why the desire to just automatically test everyone in a certain group , when many of those people are at extremely low risk?
Because actually syphilis IS on the rise across the U.S.

“If a woman is monogamous...”
Have you met women today?
Because if the government says that monogamous mothers dont need testing, it makes the promiscuous mothers feel bad.
>>>If a woman is monogamous is she really at high enough risk that we just want to automatically test her?<<<
LMAO. How many loose women are going to admit that? Especially if they are showing up to the baby doctor with their husband or boyfriend? Young women today are rather promiscuous. And per the CDC, 1 in 5 people have a STD. And further, nearly one in two incidents were aquired by people aged 15 to 24 years old. So while it may be 1 in 5 for all, for the youth demo, it’s clearly higher.
