The 1942 situation in WWII, when the US was just entering the war, was a far different scenario than Russia, who is going it alone, faces in Ukraine.
The Russians are headed for a resounding defeat.

How did that work out for the prior Nazis, taking all that terrain so rapidly? Important difference, that you cannot seem to understand, is the Ukrainians outnumber the Russian soldiers on the battlefield. So its actually reversed, the Russians are the Germans, who's offensive has run out of steam.
