Same as the polls in October 2020. The polls could portend the true outcome, but for government sanctioned voter fraud, manipulated voting machines, false tallies.

Perhaps one easy to implement partial remedy would be a law that required once vote counting started, it would continue until the votes were tallied. No more midnight "take a break" and "come back tomorrow".
