That’s exactly how it works. All socialistic schemes is wealth transfer from the poor to the rich and the poor thanks them for that opportunity.
They don't thank them at all. They believe "the rich," i.e. any given taxpayer - paying for everything for them is their right, as reparations and because of "past discrimination."
They have been told repeatedly by the schools, media and government that they are poor because the evil rich took everything from them - not their own poor financial and school habits.
Unless you take the Bolshevik approach and just shoot the rich.
