I'll concede that Joe is worse than ever. He has always been an idiot, though he might have occasionally spoken in complete sentences in the past.

Even obama said, "never underestimate Joe's ability to f--- things up."

I laughed along with everyone else at this. But for Joe to remember that some not-local-him politician was in a wheelchair is perhaps excusable. On the other hand, wondering why someone who died a month or two ago, who you, in fact eulogized, isn’t attending your rally—that’s idiotic.

Joe was never the brightest bulb on the tree, but I don’t think he won the award for stupidest in the U.S. Senate during his time there—what was it 700 years? He does seem to be functionally innumerate and remarkably never is called out on it.
