That neo-Nazi use of “orcs”.....

And another FR member comes out of the closet to show their true neo-Nazi colors.

That makes two today so far.....

For the more enlightened among us, the Orcs are Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Tolkien explained that nothing in Middle-earth was inherently evil, not even the Orcs. The orc armies were created through brainwashing, corruption, and torture of good peoples. And, the rank and file were slaves and conscripts, who hated their commanders, hated their servitude, and distrusted each other... but when united they fought ferociously, and were brutal.

The word comes from ‘orcneas’ in Beowulf but was adapted by Tolkien. It perfectly describes the Russian AND the Nazi armies as well as any other that is defined by brainwashing and brutal tactics.

Tolkien also used the corruption of elves, men and even Smeagol as metaphors for the way war changes people. And, he drew on experiences of all sides that fought in World War One.

Orcs are victims as well as villains. This theme would be familiar to you if you understood allegory, morality plays, tragedies, and melodrama.

Reality isn’t binary good versus evil. It’s a continuum.

Victim becomes savior.
Villain becomes victim.
Savior becomes villain.

Good job adding a show of TOTAL illiteracy as well as gullibility and pro-fascist brainwashing to your list of advertised qualities.

The “orcs” in Tolkien were symbolic of ... who exactly?
