It would be interesting to discover who allowed China to open a "police" station in NYC.

Back in the 1990s, Congress passed legislation granting the FBI jurisdiction throughout the world.

I wondered at the time how the rest of the world felt about that.

I remember that. Terrible idea. I seem to recall saying it would be used as a pretext to say that foreign could eventually exercise jurisdiction over Americans in America.
