Russia has several pipelines going to Europe. What makes the Nordstream special is that because it goes through international waters instead of through other nations. The Nordstream pipelines are the ones that Russia doesn’t have to pay transit fees on.
For that reason alone I find it hard to believe that Russia would damage those pipelines instead of the others. The less serious side of my mind pictures a Polish General and Admiral looking at a map of the pipelines with Germany on one side and Russia on the other and muttering “Screw em both!” under their breath.
He is the only one that said he would do it.
He isn’t very bright.
What did they gain?
The Biden regime is hindered by the fact that most people, and nations, do not trust them at all...despite any lip-service to the contrary.
Russia has the best and the newest nuclear arsenal as well as greater throw-weight.
Russia has the best civilian shelter system and supplies to weather a nuclear strike.
The west definitely has the world's best conventional weaponry, this much is certain. But that counts for very little in an all out war.
The west has the finest surveillance systems, they rule space and their space-based assets are an order of magnitude better than Russia's.... but again, this means little in an all out war.
The west's folly has it pushing this confrontation to the nuclear level and that is the level at which they come in second best...it's just so stupid :-/

I am certainly no pipeline pigging expert, but one would think there would be a pressure drop while inserting the pig, or heck you might have to completely depressurize to run those? If this is the case, why did we see no pressure drop prior to the event? As I understand it the first pressure drop was at the time of the event.
Again, no expert but this is a thought I had via the pigging angle. Certainly a look at the locations will tell the tale I would assume.
I’m not a pigging expert either.
It would be one way of getting an explosive to a site without visible ships or aircraft or submarines. But
a sufficient timer accomplishes the same thing.

No one has been able to go down and inspect the pipe lines yet. The monitoring you are talking about were seismic measurements. And, yes, explosions were recorded in the vicinity of those sites where the leaks appeared. However, are those recordings able to differ between external explosions and explosions ocurring inside the pipes? I don’t know, but I don’t think so.
I did some reading about methane hydrates and what I’ve found so far talies well with what was stated on the blog.
I don’t know what happened. But I wish that our authorities would look at all possibilities before coming to a decision.
