This situation is unresolved. Russia DOES have a motive, apparently, which is a contractual liability for non-delivery. Russia voluntarily stopped deliveries weeks earlier. Blowing up the pipelines would have reduced its ongoing liabilities if it can be made to appear that this damage was an act of a third party. The pipelines were by this time a wasting asset as Germany is well on its way to a total change in energy infrastructure, precisely in order to deny Russia its “leverage” - exactly as Trump told the Germans to do btw.

Not saying that the Russians did it, but that they certainly are in the lineup of suspects.

This is like an Agatha Christie mystery - “Murder on the Orient Express” for instance. Hercule Poirot is faced with a roomful of people with both the motive and the opportunity to do the deed.

Aside from everything else, Slojo (Biden) actually said he was going to do something like that on a television interview. Perpetrator needed three things in quantity sufficient:

1. technology
2. motive
3, stupidity

Other national leaders might have the tech and the motivation, but Biden is the only guy stupid enough...

At another post it was stated that Germany has a contract with Gazporm to buy a specific ammount of gas until 2030. Further that they are required to pay for it whether or not Gazprom actually supplies it. This would be an interesting legal case. Gasprom’s case is strengthened if the west destroyed the gas pipeline or Russia can “prove” the West destroyed the pipeline. On the other hand Gazprom’s case would be weaker if Russia turned off the pipeline. Then again if Russia destroyed the pipeline but is never caught that could play well financially for Gazprom.

“Russia voluntarily stopped deliveries weeks earlier. “

First, Germany stopped buying.
